From TED again: some interesting stuff on the tyranny of disinterest that is replacing the tyranny of distance in inhibiting global connection and awareness. (OK, so a slightly melodramatic phrasing in the interests of wordplay… it’s more the media-shell thing I think I’ve discussed before, about how we use new communications technologies to surround ourselves with familiar/comfortable ideas and people.
